“Mountain of God” is the meaning of the Maasai word “Oldoinyo Le Ngai.” The only active volcano in East Africa is this peak. Since 1883, there has been volcanic activity on the peak, and it is still active today. Amounting to about 9442 feet in height, the Oldoinyo Le Ngai mountain. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area includes the Crater Highlands. In this reserve, the local populations coexist with the animals. The Great Rift Valley in Northern Tanzania is bordered by a number of volcanoes, some of which are still active. Because of this, they are more than JUST the Ngorongoro Crater, which has a variety of spectacular peaks, steep escarpments, crater lakes, lush forests, grassy hills, streams, and waterfalls.

Even active is the Ol-Doinyo-Lengai (2878m)! Numerous Maasai have lived there for hundreds of years, grazing livestock on the grasslands. The majority of walking occurs at about 3000 meters. The adventurous do have a lot of alternatives, though.
